[Enjin Archive] Lag and downtime
Started by [E] MegaKill

Agharta is having major lag spikes and the community needs to know what is going on. Today everyone kept getting disconnected from agharta and was very hard to join back. Im sure admins are trying hard to fix these problems but havent made much progress in the past month or so. We just have a few questions

Why are the servers acting laggy?

What are u going to do to resolve this lag?

When will it be fixed?

Why is it taking so long

and could the other eximus gaming servers be causing lag

Tips: why so many plugins, and worlds
I am going to give you simple answers to these questions:

- Minetown's host is having connection network issues, which is causing the lag.

- The owner has contacted them several times regarding this issue.

- When the host finally fixes their network problem. We have not been given a solid ETA.

- We do not know, that is something the host may know.

- No.

Please do not continue to make new threads about this issue when there is already another one active. We appreciate you taking action to ask these questions, but it could have been done on the thread started by dteandy.
zackchris,

First thanks for voting

I am not in any way part of the staff of the Agharta server, however they sometimes will let me jump over to the server and play. <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

I do know a little about the sister server PearlMC and can assure you that every large server is going to have lag issues at times.

These issue can be caused by external network issue (such as EliteCatalyst has stated) or internal issues.

With the external issue most of the time the only think to be done is wait for the 3rd party to fix the errors on their end.

Internal (non-3rd party) server issues can be quite hard to track down.

We can all but rule out hardware resources as a limiting factor, MT has some good hardware.

That brings us to software.

Some of this might be non-server related, say a bad proxy / DNS issue, which I believe have been pretty much taken care of .

Some are server (software/virtual, not hardware server) specific.

I know on Pearl we have had some lag issue and truth be told with software this complex you will always have issue. Pearl is generally more vanilla Minecraft in nature that is our sister server Agharta. All the pugins that make Agharta a fun place to play are complex, sometimes they don't play nice with each other. An errant plugin can be hard to track down.

No matter if the issues that you are experiencing on Agharta are 3rd party or internal rest assured that your concerns have been heard and the fine staff of Minetown are doing their best to resolve them as fast as possible. Sometimes players suggest a solution which has been attempted yet not found to be effective, these attempts are not announced in a pubic forum.

We all want the servers to run fast and every player to have a great gaming experience. The staff is working diligently to track down and resolved the performance issues which concern you.

Thank you for your patience while the issues are being resolved, and thank you again for your voting.

I trust I did not step on any toes of the fine Mintown / Agharta staff.

Back to Pearl I go, but will vising our sister server again in-game.
hi
Wasn't this issue addressed in multiple threads in the past month?
