Hi guys, I know a lot of you have no idea who the heck I am. So hi, I'm Matt. I've been playing Minecraft for about 3 and a half years, and have been a member of MineTown for about that long as well. If you don't recognize me, I don't blame you, I played on MineTown for about a year, and then disappeared for the next two, and really just came back within the last few months. For those of you who don't know me personally, which is almost everyone these days, since all the people I used to talk to are now either MIA or banned, I absolutely love Minecraft, and computers in general. I started college a month ago with a major in Computer Programming, with an emphasis on Software Engineering. So yeah, I love computers. The only problem is the fact that I'm tired of them. For the past three and a half years, I have spent almost 12 hours a day, 7 days a week playing Minecraft. I've done literally everything there is to do in Minecraft. I've played on hundreds of different servers, staffed on dozens of them, and heck, over the years, I've even owned a couple. I've dabbled in Java and plugin development, texture pack development, mod development, if it's related to Minecraft, I've tried it. The problem is, within the last few weeks, I've just gotten tired of it all. Every time I get on my computer, nobody is on Skype anymore. The only MineTown server I really enjoy playing anymore, Prison, also rarely has anybody online. So I've come to the decision, that this may be the end of Minecraft for me. Well, not entirely the end, I could never completely give up the game that got me started into computers and programming, but it might be time to seriously cut back the amount of time I spend on it. I've tried getting back into robotics, but seeing as I dropped out of highschool (that's another really long story not worth getting into) and started college, I can't go and rejoin any FRC teams, as I'm "too old". And there aren't any programs that really extend past highschool. Seeing as I go to a community college, in order to cut down on costs when I transfer to engineering school, they don't really offer any clubs or anything. Other things I enjoy doing include things like Airsofting and Paintballing, but of course, the nearest paintball/airsoft course near me is like an hour's drive away :\ I have no idea what I'm going to do guys. I'm pretty much bored out of my mind on the computer, as nothing appeals to me anymore. Weather it be Minecraft, or Steam, or messing around coding things. If anybody has any kinds of suggestions on other hobby type things I can get into, I'd be more than interested in hearing about them. Do you have any previous or current experience with Minecraft administration?: Yes, I have owned a few of my own small servers, and am currently a Senior Admin (equivalent of a co-owner) on a cracked server. Do you have any previous or current experience with Minecraft Prison administration?: I've settled a few disputes between players on other MC Prison servers, however I've never held any authority rank on a Minecraft Prison Server. How are your PvP Skills?: They are fairly decent. Pretty good if I'm not lagging and have a bow, as long as I don't drop the soap. Explain the concept of a Minecraft Prison Server: The concept behind a MC Prison server is to give the players a unique roll playing experience different from the normal "minecraft" experience of building and mining. To play on a Prison server gives players the experience to play as a prisoner, and try to work their way up the system to buy, sell, and smuggle items in order to gain power among their peers. They have the chance to "bend the rules" and take risks of being caught by guards, officers, and sergeants, and having everything taken from them while they are trying to work their way to freedom. Have you spoken much on Minetown Mumble?: I'm on there right now! Do you have Skype?: Yes, I do, and I'm on it almost 24 hours a day Why do you think you will make a good Officer/Sergeant on the Prison? Explain: I think I will make a good officer or Sergeant because I have a good grip on what the concept of a prison server is, and I have experience moderating, administrating, and owning Minecraft servers. I can settle disputes between players, and am quick to react between them. I'm one of the oldest members on MineTown, and have never actually held a position of authority or responsibility, and would like a chance to do so. 17. I'll be 18 in a month...and if you're going to say "go get a job" or anything like that, don't. I have a job. I also have bills I have to pay. And right now, those bills leave me with ABOUT $20 of spending money a month.
