[Enjin Archive] PlayerHeads Plugin No Longer Necessary!
Started by [E] joeydev

Hey guys, I know we all love the player head's plugin, just like me. But I discovered today that we really don't need to have this plugin. Minecraft has added this feature built into the game. So it's one more plugin MT doesn't need to have. I have tested this and have been amazed. All it requires is a few command know hows.

If you type in /give @p 397 1 3 {SkullOwner:"MHF_Blaze"} and hit enter, guess what kind of head you're going to get. You're going to get a Blaze head. Now this command can be used on any minecraft name or mob. All you have todo is fill in between the quotes the players minecraft name or the mob's name. That's it! If you have access to the /give command, then this will work. I don't know at what rank staff can spawn heads, but I thought this was rather cool. I know it's not exactly streamed lined, but I figured one more plugin removed means less lag. The one thing that I don't like about this feature is when you hit the head it doesn't tell you the name :/

You guys can try this out on your computers and see what you think. All you do is go to single player, open a world, click ESC and select Open to Lan and Allow Cheats to be ON! Then simply type in one of the following commands and tada that's it. Hope you guys enjoy it! PS this also works on public servers too.

/give @p 397 1 3 {SkullOwner:"MHF_Blaze"}

/give @p 397 1 3 {SkullOwner:"MHF_CaveSpider"}

Player head's give's you player heads form when you kill someone. something /give cant do. Player heads is not really a lag causing plugin. I would wager if we had access t the /lag command. (permission node essentials.gc) that it would show that agharta get's 20 TPS. Which is defined as no lag at all. I'm pretty sure minetown will only give their mod+'s the /give command. They are OP so they have by default. Regular mod's probably just have the /item command. I agree this is an under published feature. i think its been around for a while too.

Oh great point lancefortier, I didn't even think about the fact that it doesn't drop mob heads or player heads when doing PVP. haha never mind then. Oh well, still pretty cool, especially if you're playing in single player and want to place a head on something. Thank you for that comment.
Np, and i'm gald you said that, now i have a way to get head's in single player.
Also, as stated already, we can then allow others to use the plugin, with our the /give permission which could be bad.
