It has been Quite a long time since the first Iron Builder events took place, events which put members against Staff in a building contest. In honor of Minetowns 3 year anniversary all this week I will be randomly holding Iron Builder Contests. There are no set times, just be in game and if you hear one announced just wait... soon there will be a call out for a volunteer! Each build one lucky member will go up against a staff member in their Iron builder contest at the illustrious Builder Stadium! (/warp Builderstadium on classic)
There is no credit prize, or diamond, or gold, what you win is bragging rights that you beat a member of staff and your name added to the winner section in the Iron builder results page!
...but who will be the Staff Builder? It can be anyone! You may be going against a Helper, or a member of the BuildTeam, it could be a Mod or an Admin, it may even be Sawine! You never know!
Below is a copy of the original Iron builder post that will detail all the rules and materials so read on and be ready!
Iron builder is a small event, it is one member of minetown against the Iron Builder, who is a member of the Minetown staff.
Each participant has the same starting items to build with and has one hour to build three different things.
Each participant must build within the hour a home, a decorative build (ie something you build in a town or near your home) and a free build which may be anything you want.
Three "plots" are available of varying size and you may choose which plot you build each build on.
In addition aside from the starting items there is a "Mystery Block" which may be any available item in minecraft that it is possible to build with. This "Mystery Block" must be incorporated into each of your three builds.
At the end of the hour the builds are judged on three aspects.
Form: the generally look of your build, how well it is built and how nice it looks.
Function: Does your build function for what it is supposed to be? If it is your home would it be a good home to use in the regular game? If it had redstone, does the redstone function properly, and so on.
Use of the Mystery Block: How well did you incorpate the "Mystery Block" into your build?
