Yah, you probably have the Security Essentials virus. It will mess up your proxy settings so you can't connect to websites through your browsers. Natedog has the right idea. Google a tutorial of how to get rid of it from a different computer and download the software needed to a flashdrive.

Yeah i've had problems in the past with viruses like these. Try going in safe mode to activate these programs, as the virus may block them.

I have had that i had to go onto safe mode download it, use it once you do that it locates the infected/corrupt files or documents and then termantes them
