Now, let me be the first to say I have -no- idea what it takes to run a server, or how the servers are all distributed and how any of that technical mumbo jumbo works, its all hocus pocus to me. So if I am talking about something that makes -no- sense I apologize...but I have something I feel the need to get off my chest.
I am frankly so tired of the block lag on the main server. For a good portion of the day (if not all day) I find myself struggling to get ANYTHING done because I have to break one block six or seven times. I'm constantly popping in and out of the server to see if I can even try to work on my builds. I've even resorted to playing on Skyblock because its one other server where I can pretty much independently play and build what I want on my own. What I don't understand is how Skyblock can be practically lag free yet on Classic I can't break a single block. Is there some sort of distribution problem? Are the more 'popular' servers getting all the juice to keep the majority of players from experiencing lag?
I'm not going to fuss about the 80% MTC tax I paid for a server I don't want to play on, or the fact that Classic is a ghost town...I just want to work on my build quietly in my own little chunk of the map. I started this project almost a year ago, acquiring land bit by bit until I finally was able to receive a claim big enough for my build. Only now, when I've gathered almost enough materials to work on it, and I've found the time in my schedule to start tearing down and building up I can't do it!
I've put a lot of work into this server, and I'd like to see my work finished without just giving up but at this point it almost seems more logical to rebuild everything on my own personal world because then I wouldn't have to worry about the horrendous amount of lag.
I don't want to quit minetown, I really do adore this server and most of the people here but leaping lizards this lag on classic is ridiculous.
