Total # of blocks? Vertical levels? Horizontal expansion? Number of created items? Challenges completed? Exactly how is the island level calculated? It's frustrating building and farming for an hour and no level increase, then seemingly at random the level goes from 30 to 33.
Each block (IE, cobblestone, diamond block, stonebrick) has a set 'value'. Imagine this as a sort of island xp.
Placing said block on your island will add that blocks value to your current value.
Should the value pass a certain milestone, your island will level up.
I forget most blocks' values, but cobble gives 1, and diamondblock gives something in the hundreds.
Also, you level up linearly, not exponentially. AKA, there is the same amount of 'xp' between every level.
Your level may be rapidly changing due to your tree farm, what with all those logs and leaves spawning and adding to your level.
Just to clarify, let's pretend that your island is comprised of 99 cobblestone blocks. This means your 'island exp' is 99.
Now let's also pretend that each level takes 100exp. Your island level is 1, and you then palce your hundreth cobble block, making your total value 100. Your island level is now 2.
A creeper explodes, taking 4 cobble with it. With a value of 96 now, you are level 1 once more.
Keep in mind the numbers above aren't the actual ones (bar the value of cobble), they're just examples <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

Thank you for answering my question! "Placed" blocks - not specific vertical or horizontal benchmarks. Good to know.
No problem, happy to help one of the few unobnoxious Skyblockers <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object> If you have any further questions feel free to ask <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>
