probly to remove the aspect of farming snowballs and iron. iron is ment to be unobtainable other than trade on skyblock if im not mistaken.

Don't make sense IMO but I dont make the rules i just follow them.

Pretty sure barney hit the nail on the head. It would be super easy to get iron. As for snow golems? Haven't progressed far enough but do snowballs have any importance on skyblock?

They do not, at least not that i know of. I think they just disabled "craftable" mobs in general.

You can make them into snow blocks and build with them I guess.

Not sure it's a blanket config option. Know nothing about the skyblock configs though so also plausible.

They are usually more detailed then that though especially when it comes to disabling things.

if you look at the uses: snow balls-> snow blocks and their actions of defense, could be to prevent the use in traps or something? either way, why would you need snow in the first place?
