if you saw my previous thread you would know why I'm here. For those of you who didn't I had made a thread asking what I should get for my upcoming birthday a majority of the people said to get a desktop/ laptop since my current one sucks at being technology. So please give me the best laptop or desktop within a 100-1150$ range please. This is basically the same thing as PkmnMewTwo's thread.

Hate to be one of those 'build it, buying it is stupid' people.
But honestly if you just ask for like $800 dollars to build it yourself, it will be a lot cheaper to build it and you will get a lot more out of your money.

First Suggestion:
Desktop Pc, NO, i repeat, NO Laptop.

He's right, when building you can get twice, if not three times the computer for the same budget in retail ready made computers. Also, laptops are overrated for gaming. When you buy one, it can only keep up with the new games for a year or two because nothing in it is interchangeable. You can build a desktop and replace this and that when it's needed. Only thing you can really change in a laptop is the Hdd, Ram, and Processor. Even then, your processor selection is EXTREMELY limited. Do yourself a favor and custom build a desktop.
*EDIT* Also, this happens alot more with laptops than desktops, and when it does on a desktop it can be fixed in under 2 minutes. Laptops are like puzzles, and now more and more manufacturers are pulling their maintenance and service manuals from their websites so it's getting harder and harder to take them apart correctly.
jallaf makes a great suggestion for where to get build advice...
if you wait a few hrs, when i get home from work ill get you a full newegg.com list of stuff you should buy
first, DO YOU NEED A MONITOR? or a keyboard/mouse?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1127988 $832
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150605 $250 (always get XFX vid cards, only ones with LIFETIME WARRANTY)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135252 $80 (dont NEED bluray, but worth the extra $$)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148912 $110 (the 120GB SSD in the combo should be your OS and basic prgms ONLY, this would hold all your data and whatnot)
Grand total - $1272
little pricy, and this is without keyboard, mouse, monitor... HOWEVER, it would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 3k at WorstBuy or any retail store. (WHICH I MIGHT ADD, doesnt even offer a pc this epic... soooo...)
this will be 'top of the line' for about 3 years easy... my pc is from Oct '10 and its still a tank, i only build a PC if it will be good 3+ yrs in the future and play all the latest games then.
this is my suggestion, if i had the cash i might build something like that myself <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>
