I just recently heard some people talking about levels on the server and "leveling up." Anyone have an idea what these are? I've never heard of having ranks on minecraft.

Too many ppl would not like the idea of having to level during several hours to finally be able to mine diamond... i bet many didnt even considered that.

thats my thread about it and sawine it does not require levels to do ANYTHING, you mustr of read it wrong. they just add an addictive part to the game and reward SMALL benefits to leveling skills...people keep saying its game-breaking yet they obviously have not even read what it is. if you're not going to read what needs 2 be read, don't post.
