You can't claim a region by yourself. All you need to do is to make four corners in a rectangle and stand in it. Now you type ''/pe new (message)''

An example of a /pe would be ''/pe new Can i claim this region? Thank you.''

*Note: make sure to mark your corners very clear so that the staff that will do your /pe can see what you mean. Place some 5 block+ tall pillars of a block that is easy to see (cobblestone, wool, netherrack).

To claim some land, you will need to file something called a Petition. (Info on that here)

First you need to mark out the land you want to claim, by building 1x1 towers at opposite corners. (Try to use something noticeable, so the land is easy to find)

Then, if you can, stand on the tower you have built, and type "/pe new Could I please have this land protected? Inbetween the towers".

-Make sure the land has not been claimed first by someone else-

This leaves a message for staff, who will help you when they get to your Petition.

You can be offline, land can be protected for you whilst you're ingame or not.

Yes, that just means your PE was done as you had asked.
