Well, I have been seeing all this hype about the FTB server. It seems to be the most prominent and most occupied server.. I am really curious as to what it is and how I would access it. I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what it is or tell me where I can obtain this info.

Those are really good questions for a new comer. Let me help you out. First off, FTB stands for Feed-The-Beast. What it is, is a modpak. It has several mods in it that alter the original Minecraft experience.

FTB is really easy to use, no need to manually install different mods, its all in their custom launcher which you can get at:

http://feed-the-beast.com/

When you download that, there is a list of different mod packs, the one you will want to download is called "MindCrack" When that installs, you can then launch it, and join the Minetown FTB server. You will be a guest until you submit for whitelist here:
