300c, i Hope you know why Intel is going Down and noone buying their CPUs?

Well 300c, he is on a strict budget and Intel based motherboards are more expensive. Also that AMD cpu is on par with a i3 and just below the performance of a i5 except it is a quadcore. it will hold up well for a good amount of time. If he had a $800+ budget i would have gone with a Intel cpu.

Well, It's not a strict budget. I could go over. I mean, like I really want to play minecraft with no lag and pretty much max settings. Would and i7 or an i5 work?

Oh. For just minecraft this will be fine. when i said max settings i was talking about games like crysis 2 or battlefield 3.

That processor would not be compatible with the motherboard. That processor has a different socket type. You would need a motherboard with a LGA 1155 socket type for that intel processor.

Well, seems like everyone has got this under control, but don't get Windows 8 for gaming. Get Windows 7.

Win 8 for Gaming is awesome, ist needs half the resources The win 7, means more gaming power.
