I played a game years ago was a great idea that could work on MT PVP. It had 4/5 factions, that were located in separate geographic regions, populated by clans all part of the same factions. The Faction regions were divided by neutral regions (Divided by Lava Rivers with strategically placed bridges to access the regions). The faction regions are non PVP vanilla mine craft rules like on main.
The Neutral regions have say 2/3 hour (6PM to 9PM) PVP windows established when a region under the control of a faction is declared against during declaration hours (say 9am-3PM) by another faction controlling an adjoining border region. During the PVP window factions can attack a defended region and its buildings trying to gain control of its capital (Capture the flag type deal where you destroy the region capital flag and build your own) once a region changes ownership control or the PVP window closes the area is safe for rebuild and fortification by the controlling faction until the next day if its declared against. Once a region is declared against other factions cannot also declare on it (first come first serve).
By not having warps allowed in the neutral areas when a player dies in battle he/she would then have to travel by foot to the battle area which would take a lot of time, and also likely leave the returning player an easy target while traveling as he wouldn’t be protected by numbers and open to being picked off along the way if discovered. The primary wave of attackers would be susceptible to attacks while marching requiring marching in numbers (Though this would make large forces in route detectable by scouts and such….)
Sounds complicated, but its really not when it’s done, just need a place on the website to list the daily region declarations, and a Mod to turn on/ off pvp windows. The players/armies defending or attacking do the rest.
