What should the "laser" do?
Jared, ever played tekkit?
Tried, it was too hard...
Well, this would be for Vanilla, not part of like, tekkit. I'd want to get another block, too, and call it the dispenser cart or something. I'd have them connected in a train, with a furnace cart on the back, and as it mines forward it places track for you. The dispenser cart would have a stack of powered rails, a stack of detector rails, and seven stacks of regular rails, and it would set a segment of like, four regular rails, detector rail, powered rail, or something like that....
Ohh perhaps we can get machines and such. Hmm what to call a furnace that uses electricy? How about electric furnace? Perhaps we can get pipes too? Connect them together and stuff. We should probably add some stuff for redstone as well. What to call it .... I GOT IT redstone + power so we call it redpower.

Keep thinking you definitely have something here....
^ Oh stop it, you. <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

In all seriousness, that laser would have been great for the hours I spent digging this with halos, taran, and VVX. We also dug this during the time that mining XP was disabled. So many picks gone. We actually talked about how great it would be to have some kind of automatic mining tool as we constantly fell to our deaths.

just play tekkit and you have mining lasers and nukes. You dont need a mining laser in vanilla....

Ding ding ding we have a winner <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f61b.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":p">:p</object> On a serious note Mojang is slowly adding things that are in tekkit currently. Next update they are pretty much adding railcraft and a bit of redstone changes. As tekkit becomes more popular I am sure they will take what they like and continue to add it into minecraft.

As for nukes on tekkit they are disabled for obvious reasons.
