[Enjin Archive] Eve Online
Started by [E] GACKT

So I'm hot and bothered for a space exploration game, I've been playing a lot of FTL lately and well, that's getting old. So I decided to give Eve Online a try, but considering it's one of the most impenetrable MMO's these days, I fear I might not get the hang of it.

I was wondering if there are any committed players here on MT? I've read quite a few crazy stories that come out of Eve Online over the years.
A guy who lost a Ship with packages that price over 6,500$

I'm just waiting for that to come out. Hate Eve's subscriptions.
One of my irl friends is a massive eve online player. He is in a well known group that enjoys trolling people, taking their stuff and making them rage >.>

I could probably get the youtube recordings of the kids raging, some have proper meltdowns because my friends group takes millions of ingame currency.

Hold people ransom, they pay a massive fee, they kill him anyway and take his stuff.

One of the reasons I will never play eve D: I couldnt be like that and I wouldnt want to be a part or other groups
I gave it a try a while back. Meh.
I used to be a dedicated EVE player part of the Organization (so happens to be my minetown faction name too). It was a corp I ran with over 250 people, dedicated t helping new players and protecting those who'd pay a small fee. We were like mercenaries, but only for hire against the carebears. In EVE, I'd say 50% of the people or more are all trolls who just camp low sec so they can kill you and take your stuff. Unfortunately, if you want to get any money, you HAVE to go to low sec space. So... playing eve = you are screwed no matter what. I'm still subscribed waiting for my capital ship training queue to complete, which should take about 7 more months. The problem with EVE is that it is about training skills to compete with others. It will take you about 3 years to reach 100% skill level, but then they expand the game and you won't be 100% again for another year or so. I'm actually debating about ending my EVE sub because I'm down to 50 members, all of which I rate at a low tier. AND, my space station happened to be taken over by a mutinous group of members wanting to troll people so... about 1000 USD worth of game material (just an estimate since it took two years to get it all) has now been taken away from me. Haha. Don't get EVE unless you enjoy frustration and trolls.
