Haha no problems. In essence:
1. You are sent info from Minetown (i.e. the map, chunks etc)
2. Your minecraft client processes and displays this information
3. Due to glitches with texture packs and orebfuscator, some of the wrong visual information is sometimes sent
4. You see valuable ores and think OMG, I'm so mining this!
5. You mine it, but only get the regular crap.
6. You shamefully retire to the corner, depressed that you didn't get a shiny emerald.
