[Enjin Archive] Moderator
Started by [E] Danny

Thought I would put this out there as I see quite a few people who don't understand our process of selecting staff.

First and foremost, the position of moderator is NOT a priveledge. You do not become staff be being an older member, or by having seniority. This title is earned by showing not only us (the staff) but the whole community that you are always trying to help and improve the server. You do not ask for it, you do not nag for it, you make as great of an application as you possibly can and wait. If you are chosen, you will know, don't message other staff 100x over.

We choose staff based on two major things, maturity and need. It's the way it's always been done and will continue to be done, no, we will not make an exception for you or anyone else. When we need more staff to combat our tasks, we will choose the best qualified. No, you do not get promoted as soon as you post an app.
Well said Danny <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

Answer in short: All staff select the new staff.

The process usually goes like this: A poll is made with all applicants that have made a moderation application. Staff chose which ones they feel would be best suited for the position based on what they have done for minetown, maturity and the staffs personal experience they have had with the players. This could mean how often they see each applicant online, personal dealings with the player, how the player interacts with other players and what the player does to show they help minetown in some way.

Also included would be any staff recommendations/player recommendations for new helpers and all staff decide on that. Anyone can write a recommendation, just drop a staff manager a recommendation and the reasons why that player would be best suited for helper. If we catch you using an alt account to make yourself a recommendation this will massively reduce your chances of us ever trusting you with a staff position. Your recommendation is never ignored, next time we go through the staff selection process the recommendations are included, but thats the only time they will be used. Its always based on when we need staff.

This does not mean you should run about asking players to write you a recommendation. If we catch any players doing this it will massively reduce your chances of getting a staff position.

This process is for Moderators and Helpers only. A different process is done for developers, events team and promoting through the ranks to Mod+/Admin.

I hope this clears up the process for you x
Thanks Danni

I don't mean to make you write another of those...

But, what are the circumstances under Event Staff selection? <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

Its completely fine <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

Event Managers deal with promoting rather than all staff. So when we need more event staff applications are looked through and we ask the opinions of the events team on who they think would make a good edition.

We mainly look for players who massively involve themselves in events and make a lot of their own unofficial events. While event world is still being build no events are running in the main world so it would be a prime time for players to do their own events and show staff they're up for events team. I've been pretty disappointed to see not many unofficial events being run by players so we're not expecting any promotions until event world is released.

Thank you Danni <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f600.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":d">:d</object>

I actually have 4 ideas for Main World Unofficial Events (Always running, not a one off).

Once I have completed my current build, I will be moving onto these <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f600.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":d">:d</object>

I was considering applying for Events Staff, still not sure, as I do like creating things like that!

Thanks again <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>
