[Enjin Archive] Concerns in the 1.3 Update
Started by [E] Idellechi

My main concern is with the plugin that allows you to click with string to get region info. In 1.3, we are able to place string on the ground with a Tripwire hook. How will the plugin counteract with this new item? Will the string lose it's ability to detect regions? Will we be able to place the tripwire at all?

I also have a concern with the /kit wood and /wand commands. As of 1.3, wood tools now serve as a fuel source. I'm just worried these kits will be abused in that purpose, and that it will become, like a 'freebie /kit fuel'. Hopefully, that won't happen, but what if it does? Will that be o.k. and not count as abuse of the kits? We could increase time between /kit wood as a solution, but what about the //wand command, which can give an unlimited supply of wooden axes, no time in between. Should we just disable //wand for members who would have no use for a worldedit tool, but let moderators use the command? Again, probably won't happen <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

I'd like to hear the community's input on what to do for these.
Place a recharge time on the /kit wood, just like all the other kits. <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f600.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":d">:d</object>

There is one already, it's just very short.

I Think Both, Placing Of The String And The Region Info Will Occur... Until It Is Fixed.
I wouldn't be worried about the kit wood. I don't think they will last as long as coal.
Or try and click an item thats vertical rather than the ground?
For Some Reason I Don't Have Permission For //wand Anymore...

The plugin that enables you to click with a string is WorldGuard -- it's used for region protections. The "WorldGuard Wand" (i.e. spider string) is configurable, so an admin could change it from string to some other item. This issue won't only affect Minetown as it isn't a custom thing. I'm sure the makers of the plugin will come up with a reasonable fix.

I don't think /kit wood or //wand would be abused too much because it is such a poor fuel. One wooden tool will smelt 1 block. In other words, to smelt a stack of cobble to get a stack of stone, it would take 64 wooden axes. Since most users don't have the /stack command, it means that each axe would have to be loaded into the furnace one by one every 10 seconds or so. I don't know too many people with that much patience.

Note, this is my input as a community member (not as a member of MT staff -- my input here is in no way the official word).
Thanks Tom! I was hoping you'd reply. And don't worry, when I say community I mean the staff too <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f609.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=";)">;)</object>
