notch posted on the changelist that minecarts may sorta work better on smp multi in the next update, whoever tests this let the rest of us know how it works... or ill just find out for my self eventually... we can finally make a rail system! (mehbeh)

and we can go inside the nether world in smp too! (if i read correct)
