About 5 mins ago my internet crapped out, no biggie, isn't a big thing to me. I restarted my router and attempted to reconnect to Minetown.

I got this dreaded error code... :

-What is up with this?

-What should I do?

Aka, your computer is infected, I'd suggest immediately backing up any important information you have and eliminate whatever it is~

Then, go here to have your address removed from the black list: http://www.spamhaus.org/lookup/

The blocklist removal center will tell you what happened and how to fix it.

Thanks guys for the help. I have downloaded a programme that iphaus suggested called McAfee stinger which SHOULD locate the malware and get rid of it.

I will try getting my ip removed in the mean time...

It seems that when I loom up my ip on ipchicken.com, that it isnt the same as it usually is...

Now on the lookup thing on iphaus it tells me it isnt a valid ip address... WTF

Try the ip it gives you on my sig! When I tried my local ip (ipv4) it said it was clear, and when I tried the ip from my sig it said that it was listed on the Policy Block List because of some problem with my e-mail settings! :/

Surely this must be a new plugin or something installed on the server, because lately there have been a lot of people affected by this!! Or has Minetown started corss-referencing player IPs with spamhaus blacklists?

Coffeey. Go to the start menu (if you're on PC) and type in cmd, press enter. Now press "ipconfig" and press enter. Look at your IPv4 address. Look that up, Then look at your IPv6 address and look that up (look both up on the site they gave before). Sometimes your IPv4 address can get screwed up (happened to me once) with your IPv6.

What I did to fix the IP problem was a system restore to one week prior then (doing NOTHING at all after the system restore) doing a FULL virus scan with Microsoft Security Essentials to remove whatever was on my computer (which was only adware). This restored my IP to what it originally was. Although this wasn't a minecraft problem for me, I do believe the situations are very similar based on what you described.
