I have recently installed industrial craft, I know there is a patch for sphax texture pack, I downloaded the file but I don't know what to do with it

I'm not familiar with this sort of thing, but have you tried dragging the contents of the texture pack patch into your original Sphax zip inside your texture pack folder?

Yeah but it didn't work

I only know how to do this on Windows. When you click on "Download", you should see the following options (for Windows): Open, Save, or Save As. Click on Save As, and just save it into your Texture Packs folder, located within your .minecraft folder. You don't have to open up the downloaded folder and transfer the continents; just drag and drop the whole folder into the .minecraft folder. Download Sphax PureBDCraft and also MC Patcher.

Wipe your minecraft client and start with a new one.

Open MC Patcher, only keep HD Textures and HD Font ticked.

Patch then close MC Patcher.

Add Sphax PureBDCraft to your client then add other mods to your client.

I got a modded .minecraft folder I want too keep

I got the hd sphax working using optifine mod

How do I make it work, all the suggestions so far don't work

It wont work unless you patch it and the patch will only work if you do it with a clean client.

You're not gonna get the results you want unless you redo your client.

I have to redo my client every update with a list of mods staff need and I always use Sphax so I don't think you will get any better help on this.
