[Enjin Archive] Disable the LWC Plugin in Lawless Worlds
Started by [E] tomcort

Houses are being built in the nether out of furnaces and doors. The builders /cprivate the blocks and effectively have protected areas in the nether because the LWC protected blocks can't be broken by anyone but the owner. In the past, I've dealt with /cprivate'd blocks in the nether with TNT, but I tried using TNT recently and it seems that it doesn't work in the nether anymore.

Example of such a house:

I don't see what the big deal is. They are pretty small structures and the Nether is vast. If they want to spend the resources and time on it I don't see why not. You aren't losing anything from it.

The nether is supposed to be dangerous and lawless (i.e. no protected areas, anything is fair game). This effectively gives region protections (i.e. safe areas for players and their stuff). It costs little in terms of resources; with credits from 1 day of voting you could buy thousands of cobble to make furnaces. Plus, it doesn't take much time, especially with /cpersist; someone determined enough could make a huge protected area. I would be missing out on all of the loot :)
Basically the only valuable materials in the Nether are glowstone and netherbrick. Neither of those could be effectively blocked from gathering using this. There is literally near-zero loss. Plus the protection is within a limited area. It isn't sky to bedrock as most Main World protections are. You are right it is lawless, and right in that word implies no rules. Therefore a player building his own shack can't be against the rules if there are none. There is still danger in the time it takes to construct and travel around the Nether.
Just take the house... AND PUSH IT SOMEWHERE ELSE! but seriously use a bed...
I have already spoke to staff about this and was told it would be fixed. The nether is lawless using such tactics is just circumventing the rules. I am sure its low on the list of priorities but it will be fixed in due time.
It's probably because of holypineapple and me that people use this trick nowadays.

We used to build bases like this in the End to store all our seized goods. Good times ^^

Until someone builds a box made out of protected furnaces around your nether portal.
I think it would be reasonable to remove LWC in the Nether and End, or maybe make LWC a donor perk in such realms. If the portal thing happened to you, furnace houses don't have much blast resistance, so put on some blast-protection armour and use a bed. Ka-bam!
Besides netherbrick and glowstone i see netherwart as a valuable nether resource, and we were thinking on using this technique to protect a farm there.

However i do agree that there should be no locks or protections in the nether.
