[Enjin Archive] I need sme help wit skin editing
Started by Unknown User

Hi guys, I really would like to find out what to use on my laptop to make skins

I have been using my iPad to make them but it takes a while to upload them and I want a bigger screen to do it on

So any skin making programmes, free only plz, can you tell me about

Thanks guys
This website/program is free to use and actually models the skin for you whilst you make it, so you can see how it will look, without needing to upload it or download a Skin Viewer. It also gives you a collection of presets to use as well as a decent colour chart, and if you know what colour you want, you can just type in the hex code of that colour and it will have it there for you, I used it when I first started making skins and it is a great beginner program!

Other than that the most obvious choice would be Photoshop, which is what I use. It isn't as difficult to use as you, probably, think it is and it gives you more choices and customisation options than that site. The only problem would be the price, but I'm sure you could easily get it free with a bit of searching around!

(Sorry for the adf.ly link, but I'm trying to raise money for donations <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f61b.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":p">:p</object>)
Alternatively, there is a website called http://www.minershoes.com/

This has a nifty tool that lets you blend colours to make colours look less solid.

Another alternative is GIMP, a free alternative to photoshop, which I used to use - it's a very good program considering it's free, and there are a ton of customisation tools.
I wish I could help you with this but my skin making set up is 'unique' as I am a digital artist so I have a lot of tools at my disposal. For the actual editing of the skins, I use Adobe Fireworks (same people who make Photoshop). Fireworks id fantastic because of the layering and the brushes. I also have a wacom tablet because it is always easier than using a mouse. I also have a special skin modeler that updates every time I save the PNG file. Ans lastly, depending on the skin I am making, I usually have google open so I can search for sources on various shading and images I am working on.

Mcskin edit is the best to use its the only thing i use and its easy to install
I also use minershoes.com, as TPrezzle recommended. I make all of my skins on it. It's a good tool and, with the experience, you can make awesome skins.
