Don't get me wrong, I love spruce for building, but you can collect so much wood AND apples from Dark Oak, and it's not bad for building either. That's why I'm voting Dark Oak.

Dark oak is a PITA to cut down, go to a mega taiga, if you decide to ruin it's natural BEAUTY, (monster), Spruce XL trees are really easy to cut down and get a lot of product.
