Hi all

I am building a new home for myself and it will be featuring a glass dome, if anyone knows any tips or programes that helps me make a dome it would be greatly appreciated!

A simple link and a small, simple description of what the program does and how to use it...

Gives a basic understanding of circles. Look at the shape, and take a "rule" from the center. Using that rule, you can then build a circle of any shape. Use circles of decreasing diameter of 2 (these circles do provide such) for the next level up. It's not a program, but it is still fairly easy to do. For the vertical, be sure to flip a circle 90 degrees on the z axis (means if you have a ring, you'll have one ring laying on the ground and a half ring standing on top of it like a rainbow). This way, your dome will be properly shaped.

Thanks John, obviously being me I am gonna mess this up big time but I will have a go, if I do mess up I would like to have a back up, a program which takes the human error out of the equation....

When building a sphere by hand, I always use these sets of blueprints. Go half way down the page and click the numbered link (corresponding to the diameter of the sphere) and save the image. Open it in MSpaint and turn on grids. Each layer of the sphere is clearly defined and all you have to do is follow the guide.

check out Minecraft Structure Planner, its a program that runs in java (like Minecraft) that allows you to make blueprints.

do not click on minecraft sturcte planning link it is a Trojan virus as soon as you enter the page it takes hold of your computer i am sure Truerurouni didnt mean it.
