Hey everyone,
As most of you by now know, as of today, Minecraft 1.9 has been publicly released to players. With it comes quite a few changes, such as combat, the end, and much more.
So, this begs the question; "When will Minetown update?"
As simple as this question may seem, frankly, it's not. The abrupt answer to this is not for an estimate of -at least- a few weeks, and the explanation is as follows.
Minecraft servers that run using added features such as plugins operate on a different core system than the base game(Such as Craftbukkit & Spigot). These ' core systems' allow us as Administrators to easily add the extra features you all know and love, like homes, and teleporting, and land claims. Since 1.9 was just recently released, before updating, we have to wait for the core system to update and be prepared for a move to 1.9. The next step is to wait for the plugins themselves to update. If a plugin is lacking in updates, updating the server would make you as players lose some of those nice features.
In general, the thing that the system and plugins need is time, so in the interest of providing the best experience for you as players, us as administrators will use that time not only to do internal updating, but also look into changing out some plugins that don't update for newer, better versions. As time goes on, and we watch what updates and what doesn't, we'll update you all as players to what our plan is. In the meantime, we ask that you have patience, and we'll continue to do our best to provide you with the best experience possible.
Thanks!
~Administration
