Those points are known as "credits", with those credits you can buy materials ingame. E.g. /warp cs

Also, the more you vote, you increase your chances of winning top voter! Top voter, I believe, gives a donator package along with some Minetown credits. I could be wrong, however.

Welcome! Diamond is also another form of currency - just an alternative. Used just as much as credits!

Beware though, the market price of diamonds (at CS - the credit shop) is about 150 Credits.

You can find them elsewhere for 30 or so Credits - this is just as the MT economy has changed a lot and prices go up and down, as they do in any economy. Ask around and anybody will tell you where to find cheap diamonds!
