[Enjin Archive] Problem With Skype and Mumble
Started by [E] яєvєℓѕ21

So whenever I am on skype, and then open up mumble from the minetown website link, skype will just crash, and as long as mumble is open I won't be able to open skype! <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f613.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":undecided:">:undecided:</object>

Anyone else got this problem, and anyone know a possible cause/cure for this problem? Thanks!

*EDIT* Sorry, forgot to mention I am on a windows 7 computer, not sure if this makes a difference, like in the way they are configured or something. My friend has a mac and he doesn't seem to have this problem.
This might be an issue with how skype and mumble to trying to access your sound devices. Make sure they are both set to non-exclusive mode.

Mumble: Configure -> settings -> advanced -> audio input -> uncheck "exclusive" at the top -> do the same for audio output

Skype: Hmmm, can't seem to find the option. I think it might be running in non-exclusive mode all the time.
Nope, I did what you said however "exclusive" was already unchecked, thanks for trying though! <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

There's an "exclusive" mode? o.o
Anyone else have this problem or know a possible fix?
Seriously, I'm the only one!!! :shock2:
Yes.

Revels, I did a little research. There's only two possible solutions.

1. Do what Darth said, it's a sure fix if you're on a call on skype while on mumble. However, his fix implies skype only crashes DURING a call.

2. Skype random crash: Get skype beta. Skype has lowered the amount of resources devoted to itself last year, and beta versions are the only thing that seem to work on Windows 7, from everyone I ask (I have that problem too, so I use skype beta all the time). Unfortunately there is no beta version. Here's the link http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/get-skype/on-your-computer/windows/no-beta/

Make sure you download the version they have there. It's a stable build. Another thing. If this doesn't work, uninstall mumble and skype. Then, install the version of skype I posted. Call a friend to make sure it works. Then, install the most recent version of mumble found here: http://www.mumble.com/

Doing such *should* delete any errors. If you need to, you *might* need to delete all files in association with both programs (might be a virus/glitch/error in a contact name in skype, for example, that is causing this).
Kk, thanks for the suggestions, I will try them when I get back on my computer, and yes, it is just random crashes, not just when I call someone. Normally I just have the both going in the background whilst I play, and then when I go on to skype to reply to a message or something, it has already crashed and comes up with the crash message. <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/2639.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":(">:(</object>
