I am trying to get online and everytime i try it says failed to verify username. i really want to play right now and im getting very frustrated

as far as i know, minetown.net was down, It should be back up though, try now(:

Hammy, sometimes when that happens you need to restart your entire computer. I get that error about 1/10 times when I start the computer and try to play minetown. When I restart my system, I'm able to play.

Every time that happens to me i just Re open Minecraft <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

"Failed to verify username" means one of two things: minecraft.net said your username was invalid, or the server couldn't connect to minecraft.net to verify that your username was valid. It's usually the latter case, most often because minecraft.net is down or inaccessible. There is nothing anyone can do except wait until minecraft.net comes back online, sadly.
