A lot of people encountered white chat on Minetown when we updated to 1.1. Earlier I managed to fix it and now I will share it as it is an annoying glitch.
Firstly download WinRAR. This is a free piece of software which is easily downloaded.
Once you have WinRAR download the .zip file below (look in attachments), I checked it my self my malicious viruses.
Once you have this downloaded open it up with WinRAR and extract the file, mq.class.
Place mq.class on your desktop.
Then go to &appdata& in your run/search area. Look for the file .minecraft or roaming then .minecraft.
Find the 'bin' folder.
Find the folder called, Minecraft and open it.
WinRAR will open the folder if set to do so, when you open it drag and drop the mq.class file into the Minecraft folder.
Once you have done this close down all windows and load Minecraft. You should have coloured chat!
