[Enjin Archive] Increase Minecraft Speed on my Computer
Started by [E] austinsimonson

So when I run Minecraft, I tend to get lots of lag and a fairly low FPS (anywhere from 2-4 to 30 <--but only when I'm in my small vault). I've been using Optifine as well. My Computer Specs. What ways are there for me to get Minecraft to run faster without sacrificing too much in graphics (I've already turned down some of the video settings like the render distance and clouds)? Thanks. <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f60e.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=""></object>
You can adjust the amount of RAM allocated to your minecraft client. The default is around 500MB so, if for example, your computer has 4GB of RAM, you're only using a fraction of the available memory. Bear in mind though that if you're increasing RAM allocation you want some to be free for your other applications; always aim to have around 2GB free.

Tutorials are here, it's pretty simple <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f642.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":)">:)</object>

Turn off view bobbing and fancy lighting. Close other open programs. If you are using a texture pack, see if the maker has a scaled down version. 32x packs work well with limited computer ability without sacrificing too much detail. As TPrezzle said, increases the amount of memory Java is allowed to use.
