I got my application approved already

and once I try to login it says failed to verify username

it would be great help if someone can give me info on why is this.

This error message means that either minecraft.net is down, or you're not using a valid minecraft account (can you log in at http://minecraft.net/login ?).

I just logged in at http://minecraft.net/login and seems everything is fine. but when I try to log in at mine town mc.minetown.net it says failed to verify user name ,disconnected by server.

my username is _Snoobish_

Are you using a modded client? If so, try force-updating and resetting to a default client.
