[Enjin Archive] My side of the story below :)
Started by [E] Matt [5]

Hi everyone! From the post below in the forums, you can see a bit of an argument going on with me and PokemonGardevoir. I'm really sad to say that there are many flaws in the story given, and I'm not very happy that this whole thing was closed without me.

First off, it was said that I had a protection over the area of the castle, however, this is not true. I said that I had expanded my protection about two weeks ago, and at that point, there was no sign of the structure being built. My protection ends 12 blocks away from where they begin their castle.

Second, it was also said that my buildings start over 60 blocks away from this castle. This IS true, but I am currently expanding at this very minute, and planned to go all the way to the end of my protection. The rule stated in Minetown rules is that one may not build too close to another user's protection, not their building.

Third, I'm mostly upset that it was built here in a server with an 11,000 block radius. I traveled over 30 minutes to find this beautiful area, yet Pokemon traveled about 30 seconds. This was built as a dream for me as I've always wanted to build a city. Now, I have two towns being built on both sides of mine, so I'm pretty much stuck when it comes to expanding.

I'm sorry if this is annoying or "immature" to some of you. I am by all means approachable, and this is really the first time I am upset about something in Minetown. I'm truly on the server all the time, and have made so many friends in the process. I just wanted to have a fun time and build an amazing town. Residents have complained to me over the cobble structure, and I just want what is best for them. Thanks for reading MY side, and I hope you have a great day! <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f600.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":d">:d</object>

Matt, I that it was more more than 12 units from the beginning of the cobble wall to your protection. I'll also give you a /tpa in game to recheck it out and hear your side so we can "finally" resolve this. Again, I'm not a mod however I know the Mods/Admins are busy and I want to do my part as a community member and assist in any way I can.
Matt said he'd "possibly" agree to build half of a hill between their two regions, only if Pokemon agrees to build the other half. However, he said this isn't a promised deal, that it is only "possible" he'd agree to this. I don't mean to make Matt sound bad, but our conversation between us stated that he is probably going to build something in a few weeks at the edge of his settlement, and is complaining in place of whoever owns a house on that side. My suggestion was that he makes the stores on that side of his region, and houses where there's a view. And, if they can agree on the hill idea, there wouldn't be any problem, I'd think.

Matt has insisted that a Mod takes care of this issue because he says that Pokemon wouldn't agree to build half the hill. However, when I asked her, she agreed. Then Matt acts in disregard and adds more to the table.

Matt, don't say I'm wrong on this. I have snap shots of the ENTIRE conversation. I'll post them if requested.

The only reason I was doing this was because I find this problem demeaning to Mods (because this problem can be easily solved, considering they both agreed to it and then Matt backed out of it). Again, I mean no offense to you Matt or to make you seem less than you are. In all honesty, yes you do seem like a friendly guy, however my opinion of you is that you are also ignorant and/or bias. Again, no offense.

As well, as I stated before I'll post the entire conversation if Matt requests it.
I AM a mod and an tell you thi, unfortunatly there isnt really anything that can be done. Sometime borders close up, I had the same thing happen to me some time ago. You can always do what is done in real life, if you cant expand out... expand up! We hae some towns that haves some pretty awesome skyscrapers built in them, check out /warp vegas and /warp milleniumcity.
lol ok i never said Pokemon never agreed to it, i said I didn't know if she would! please stop making things up about me.... I really think that's why I'm getting so pissed <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/2639.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":(">:(</object> I LOVED Minetown but slowly you people are being pretty rude to me :/
I didn't make anything up. Where did I say that you said Pokemon never agreed to it? I said I asked her, and she agreed. I never once made anything up about you, Matt. And we're being rude to you by giving you our input that you asked for? Again, want me to provide pictures of the conversation? I really don't feel like spending 10 minutes just trying to get the 30 or so pictures on this thread.

What I said was that YOU said the deal is only POSSIBLE even IF Pokemon agrees to build half of the hill. Please learn to read. No offense by that, but you are acting very ignorant right now and have been with me for the entire duration of the conversation where I was trying to be the mediator between you and Pokemon.

Stuff happens. Someone built near you. Someone built near Lomanic. Have you seen the area surrounding Minetown spawn city? It's covered with other cities. It's human instinct to not go far from where they know. Me, I walked for 4 hours in total to find my place. Made a city, made it public once I was ready to sell lots, and then there magically came other cities around me. So I moved again, and this time set the region up a little bit bigger than what I'm actually going to be using at this time. We ALL have had this problem. Okay, the cobble structure is ugly, I agree. However, they're ample distance away from your current structures AND your region. I counted 4 times, 30 units is a big enough distance. It's a perfect size to put up a hill between you two, like you've already agreed to and then backed out of.

Please don't make stuff up or try to twist the words anymore, Matt. I WILL waste my time uploading tons of screen shots I took of our conversation. These screen shots will show that I've summarized our conversation (and that of Pokemon) accurately.

Never have I said (just repeating so you know) that you never said Pokemon never agreed. Pokemon is the one who told me about the deal that you both AGREED to before I asked you. Then I asked you, and you said yes about the deal. Then backed out of it and started adding more stuff you don't like. Just so you know (and no offense) I'm not an idiot. I know a one sided deal when I see one.

I'm sorry for my rant, here, and I'm sorry for the length of this. However, saying that we all are against you... that's pretty immature of you. I've been trying to HELP you this whole time. Lomanic only provided an anecdote. What is wrong with telling one's experience (Lomanic) and helping people (me)? How do those things piss you off?

Also, just a small warning... if you call me trying to help being rude, then be aware that if I post those screen shots, they'll see how rude you were to me. I just took your rudeness and tried to have you both meet on a middle ground.

Again, I apologize for my rant and length of this reply.
You said "Matt has insisted that a Mod takes care of this issue because he says that Pokemon wouldn't agree to build half the hill. "

Try to find a screenshot of that, I can swear you'll never find it.

Oh and saying no offense doesn't make it any better
Matt at no point in this conversation have they been rude to you, please be mature in this discussion. We are treating you like an adult so please write comments back like one. Im sure Dunsjohn can find the original quote of what you said out of his screenshots. However thats just a small issue we can overlook as I feel its a petty argument. Dunsjohn has been very helpful since mods could not reply immediately, he has given some very good tips on how to resolve this.

We cannot prevent people from building in unprotected areas, it would be madness and chaos if mods did try. Everyone has their own definition on personal space, some dont mind 10 blocks away while others go mad if someone is 100 blocks near lol.

That is why once someone has a home and a region they can always request for it to be expanded. The whole point of an expansion is so they wont have people building right next to their builds. Of course you cant ask for stupid amounts like 'Can I get my region expanded 100 in all directions?' as its greedy and need to allow space for other players but we dont mind a reasonable amount. It helps if they indicate how much they wish to have it expanded by.

I would suggest building a wall between you and pokemon. When I say wall I dont mean a horrid cobble wall (Pokemon has notified me that they will change the current cobble wall) make a pretty one with a nice design and plenty of detail. I can imagine you will enjoy the challenge of creating a very well designed wall (Actually quite hard to do if you want lots of detail lol).

I am sure you and pokemon could also work together on the wall between your towns to make it look good. You may both have your differences but Im sure you both want to build brilliant creations. You could even possibly build a good relationship together since you are both neighbours.
My mistake, then. I forgot about that. And, okay here's the screen shot.
If you want all the screenshots in order, Lom or Danni please tell me and I'll upload them. But for now, I'm starving because I've been trying to help many people on the server, so I'm going to make some food and be back in an hour or two (might want to watch a show on hulu). Plus, I need to work on my thesis so I can graduate uni some time. Just tell me to upload them all, and I will. Just be aware that it'll be a while since I'm going to be away for a bit. This is also my last day to play before I spend the next week at a friend's house.
