Um I tried to connect to the server and it said I was banned. I don't know why and It kind of frightens me because I have alot of items in the game that I worked hard to get. What did I do?

I wasn't online when I was banned, I don't know who did it and I don't know why I was banned please help.

So am I banned permenately or is there some way I can make it up because I'd really like to go back to playing.
