So I recently moved out into the unknown way on the edge of the map to make my city. Well since there is now animal breeding I constructed a wheat farm and others and noticed it take 100 times longer for stuff to grow unlike before when I was closer to spawn. What is up with this because it does it to my trees and I put 2 grass blocks down on a piece about 60x20 at least 2 weeks ago and it STILL HASN'T SPREAD!!! This is insane. If the case is I can't grow out here does anyone know of some wide open area that I can construct a town at. Thanks

Chunk doesn't load if you're not there? Check if all requirements are met.

Try some bone meal, if it doesn't work something's wrong with your tree, I suggest viagra

Bones are in the market for pretty cheap, think i saw half a stack for 1g, that's 100 bone meal for 1g

LOL ya bone meal works fine I tried that and it works but shit I was so far on the city and now I have to rebuild ftw my city was going to be based on farming and can't do that where nothing will grow

Drupe is right, you have to stay on the chunk for the plants to keep growing. When you lived closer to a main area used by lots of players, their presence would keep the chunk active and your crops would continue to grow, but if you live out in the boonies you won't get as much traffic through your chunk, so when it unloads they stop growing. It's the same with smelting.

Darth Said it all... Thats why when I go afk for a dinner, etc I warp to my farm and just go to my afk safety shed.

Ugh I was soo far on the city too but do any of you know some open area where the chunks are active to build a farm now
