I'm not exactly sure if that is a plug-in for multiplayer or just single player but having something like this might be really fun for the team events (Like power core)

It would better help identify the teams to have the red and blue armor without having anybody at a disadvantage.

That is a mod, much harder to implement

Yeah, I finally found the info on the sight that said they were working on a multiplayer plug-in. Probably waiting for something like that would be best.
