[Enjin Archive] What are faction and how do they affect gameplay?
Started by [E] null [1]

I'm sorry if I sound like a noob on this topic. I was just wondering what factions are. Possibly if I get some useful info on this I'll add it to the wiki <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f600.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":d">:d</object>.
Factions = Groups/small kingdoms/guilds and they would effect gameplay the way you would imagine they would.
A Faction is a collection of players that combine for protection, wealth, power, and/or ideas and beliefs. They tend to pick some form of government (whether it's a completely fictional one, or based off of a real government), and sometimes are based off of a real type of nation/faction based in another game, or from real life history. Some factions are good and attempt to help those around them, while others seek at nothing more then to achieve total domination over all other factions using any means necessary.

Factions tend to help it's members by supplying them with items, manpower, and support during times of need, be it an emotional or a physical need. Factions tend to influence minetown, by acting as voices of power on the server, that dictate law and order over any and all territories that they control. They also set prices on goods and will establish trade with other factions, their members, or none what so ever.

Factions tend to ally themselves with others that are similar, to increase the power they have for themselves, or sometimes just to help support another faction by simply making their presence known. As well, a faction has the choice to build a city such as it's capital, or a group of cities, and begin projects to increase or lower their reputation with other factions and players depending on what they wish to do.
