If you're already bored of 1.7 <object class="emojione" data="https://resources.enjin.com/1489581540/themes/core/images/emojione/svg/1f600.svg?0" type="image/svg+xml" standby=":d">:d</object> or just curious to go exploring what's already upcoming in Minecraft 1.8, I've brought back up the Minetown snapshot server. It's completely freshly generated, in amplified mode and with the new blocks of the latest Snapshot (14w02c).

I've set a couple technical gamerules (fire spread, mob griefing, and death loss are disabled) so that you can focus more on exploring and having fun , but please note the following:

Like all other Minetown servers, please show at least the most basic level of courtesy to other players. If you pollute chat with unnecessary profanities (saying "naughty" words just to troll/harass/etc), spam chat with nonsense or links to other servers, or otherwise make it your mission to make the server unpleasant for other players, kicks and bans can still be issued. The above noted, griefing and stealing are possible, and PVP is enabled. Vanilla Minecraft does not provide fine-detail tracking of what people do. So please don't invest yourself into making a fancy building that you'll cry to lose.

First, while you don't really have to mess around with profiles, it helps keep things sorted for you to use a new profile, so let's make one.

Go to your Minecraft data folder. On Windows machines, it's something like this

C:\Users\YourName\ . AppData\ . minecraft

(I spaced out periods so they're more visible)

Make a new folder in this called "profiles" and a subfolder called "snapshot". Copy the resulting folder location, for me this would be like

C:\Users\Dragoness\.AppData\.minecraft\profiles\snapshot

Now open your Minecraft launcher and click the "New Profile" button. Change the options in the resulting Window to look something like this (alter fields to be specific to your setup and preferences).



Save the profile and you're ready to to hit the huge "Play" button.

Note: It's possible the snapshot server may be periodically down or plain appear offline for whatever reason (critical bugs, random snapshot-related crashes, snapshot updates, networking erros, etc). If you can't connect, I suggest just returning to your normal profile and playing on our regular servers for a little bit. Yeah,

You could Cave in the moutain were the lava and water flow are and then have floors of oak planks in the open making it look like theres a invisable wall. When really its just a place you can walk in. Idk if you understand.
